Mollie Dear Whatley, 92, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at her daughter's home in Florence, MS surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with interment in Harrisville Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 - 10:00 AM Wednesday, at the funeral home.\ \ Mrs. Whatley was born April 29, 1920, in Harrisville, MS to William Estus and Vavelia Dear. She lived most of her life in Florence where she was a member of First Baptist Church. \ \ She was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. Whatley; sons, Cabe, Kary, and Dale Whatley; parents, William and Vavelia Dear; sisters, Polly Mancil, Irene Thomas, Hazel Tanner, and Gladys Rodgers; and brothers, Walter Dear, Joe Dear, and Ervin Dear. She is survived by her daughters, Peggie Chandler (Tommy) of Florence and Shirley Rossan of St. Louis, MO; sons, Charles Whatley (Lynise) and Bob Whatley (Rachel), both of Florence; daughters-in-law, Dixie Whatley and Dora Jean Mangum Whatley, both of Florence; 14 grandchildren;20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; sister-in-law, Edna Dear of Harrisville; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.\ \
