Mrs. Molly Chesteen

April 8, 1962 — April 24, 2014

Martha “Molly” Lucille McInnis Chesteen, 52, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland after a long struggle with ovarian cancer. After her initial diagnosis in February 2011, her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and love for her family and friends carried her for three full years. Visitation will be 5-8pm Saturday, April 26 and 1-2pm Sunday, April 27, with the funeral service beginning at 2pm, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Molly was born on April 8, 1962 in Jackson, MS to the late John Carr McInnis and Martha “Beth” Browning McInnis. She graduated from Provine High School in 1979. In 1982, she married her teenage sweetheart Randy. She and her husband Randy built their home in Terry in 1986. As a teenager she began working at McDonalds at age 15 and worked her way up to general manager position. In 1993, she quit work to start a home business, Southern Tool and Die, with her husband Randy and to raise her two daughters, Kimberly and Katie. She had an overwhelming love for her girls and took great pride in caring for them. Her cheerful personality and love for others touched everyone she met. She always put others’ happiness before her own. She enjoyed traveling, especially yearly vacations to Destin, Florida. She enjoyed being outside and caring for her garden, especially her tomatoes and zinnias. She liked documenting memories through photos and scrapbooking. Her soft heart for animals often led to her opening her home to many pets. She was also a member of Wynndale Baptist Church. Molly is preceded in death by her parents, John McInnis and Beth McInnis of Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Randolph “Randy” Chesteen; two daughters Kimberly Chesteen and Katherine “Katie” Chesteen; her siblings Chellie Yates (Paul) of Katy, TX, John “Sam" McInnis (Martha) of Raymond, and James “Jimbo” McInnis of Florence; and 6 nephews and 3 nieces. Molly would like to thank her loving friend Melanie McDonald for always being by her side. On line guest book available at www.chancellorfunealhome.com.
