Mrs. Myrtis Long Thomas

Myrtis Long Thomas, 96, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 10am until the 12:00 noon funeral service, Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Thomas was born in Raleigh, MS to the late George and Emma Thornton Long. She had worked as a salesperson for Hancock Fabrics and she loved dancing, travel and adored raising her three kids. She is preceded in death by her husband John Thomas; son, Tommy Ashley, brothers, Scott and Al Long; and sister, Edis Walker. Survivors include her son Billy Ashley of Terry; daughter Patsy (Tommy) Pace of Terry; four grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
