Mr. Neil Powell Uzzle

Neil Powell Uzzle, 58, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home in Raymond, MS. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, December 12, and 9-10am Friday, December 13, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Oakley-Palestine Cemetery in Raymond. Brother Jerry File and Brother Roy Alexander will officiate. He was born on May 12, 1955 in Rollingfork, MS and was raised in Vicksburg, MS. During his younger years he worked for Michael Baker’s Engineering and Grand Gulf, where he was known as the best welder around. Later on in his life he worked for Independent Roofing Systems, Inc. until his retirement. After he retired he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid cattleman and a member of the Mississippi Cattleman’s Association. He was a member of Highpoint Baptist Church in Raymond, MS. He is preceded in death by his father, James R. Uzzle and his cousin Jerry Uzzle. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Uzzle; children, Greg (Amber) Uzzle, Mandi Uzzle-Smith (Brandon) of Terry, MS, Christopher (Julie) Uzzle of Rayond, MS; step-children, John Davis and Michael Grant of Pearl, MS; grandchildren, Breana, Hunter, Becca Lynn, Emma, Brees, Fischer and Noah; mother, Gena Uzzle of Smyrna, TN; brother, Danny Uzzle of Vicksburg, MS and Paul Uzzle of Platte, South Dakota; sisters, Sandra Shadd and Sharon Robinson of Murfreesboro, TN; half-brothers, Bobby, Steve and Roy; half-sisters, Alice and Patsy.
