Mrs. Nell Walters Ashley

Mrs. Hermon “Nell” Walters Ashley, 81, passed into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 24th from 5-7 p.m. and again on Friday, January 25th from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. Mrs. Ashley was born July 12, 1937 in Smith County, MS to Hermon and Velma Walters who preceded her in death. She worked as a factory worker for many years with Reckitt Benckister, eventually retiring from there. She was a faithful member of Star Baptist Church and a “momma” to many. Mrs. Ashley is survived by her husband of 65 years, Luther J. Ashley, Jr. of Florence; her daughters, Rhonda Allen (Larry) of Jackson and Jennifer Signaigo (Anthony Cole) of Florence; her granddaughter, Haley Sims; and one great grandson, Dawson Cole.
