Mr. Noel Edward Stewart

Noel E. Stewart, 89, (formerly of Jackson, Mississippi) passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 5:00-7:00pm at Chancellor Funeral Home, 7225 S. Siwell Road in Byram, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Raymond Road Baptist Church, 4622 Raymond Road in Jackson, Mississippi with interment to follow at 3:00pm at Bloomfield Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Mr. Stewart is preceded in death by his wife (of over 66 years), Margie Lee (Benson) Stewart; their sons, Keith Benson Stewart and an infant son; as well as his parents, William and Abby Stewart. He is survived by two sisters, Bessie Green and Bunny Gray; his sons, Larry (Linda) Stewart and William (Janet) Stewart; grandchildren, Dana (Greg) Gaston, Ryan (Rebecca) Stewart, Sean (Shayna) Stewart and Natalie (James) McGinness; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Stewart was as a model for serving his country and his Lord. He served his country for over 24 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1969. His service and example led the way for two of his sons to also serve. His oldest son, Larry, served four years in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, serving in country for one of those years. His middle son, Bill, served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years, as the second generation Naval Aviator in the Stewart family. His grandson, Sean, served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years, and his grandson, Ryan, has been serving in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 11 years, as the third generation Naval Aviator. “I’ve gone to Heaven to see Jesus and be with the love of my life, Margie.
