Mr. Nolan Brooks Watkins

Nolan Brooks Watkins, 85, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be Saturday, April 6th from 12 PM until the 3 PM funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at New Covenant Church in Harrisville. Mr. Watkins was born April 3, 1928 to Louis and Mary Watkins in Carroll County, Mississippi. He is a retired truck driver with White Heavy Haulers and was a member of New Covenant Church in Harrisville. Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his great grandson, Steven Brooks Butler; his sisters, Pauline Mary Criddle, Frenda Acey, and Jean Sullivan; and by his brothers, Spencer Terry, Wildred Watkins, and Calvin Watkins. He is survived by his daughters, Helen (Freddie) Ghassemi, Benita Langford of Harrisville, and Gloria (Pete) Grantham of Ridgeland; brother, Cecil Watkins of Picayune; 8 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and 1 great- great grandchild.
