Mrs. Omega Chaney, 83, died Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her residence in Jackson, MS surrounded by her loving family and caregivers after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Chaney was born May 3, 1937 in Pittsboro, MS to Leslie Calder Sr. and LV Kelly Calder. Omega was a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with her whole heart. She enjoyed the outdoors, barbequing, laughing and loving on her family. Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by the father of her children, R.D. Chaney, Sr.; the love of her life, Ike Weems; her only son, Robert “Bobby” Chaney, Jr.; 2 sisters, Shirley and Mary; brother, Les; great granddaughter, Ashlyn Chaney; and other family members and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Lily (Jimmy) Hancock and CJ Armstrong both of Jackson, MS; step daughter, Kathy Harper Beckham and her daughter, Kandice Harper both of Branson, MO; stepson, Donny Weems of Jackson, MS; sister, Noma Cashman of Texas; granddaughter, Tara (Clayton) Kelly and 2 great granddaughters, Brooklyn Kelly and Isabella Kelly and a host of extended family members and friends. The daughters of Mrs. Omega wish to give special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice; especially to her nurse, Natalie and her aide, Shalondria. The family wishes for her services to remain private.
