Opal Maxine Churchill passed away November 16, 2011 at the age of 94. Services will be held at Alta Woods Baptist Church on November 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, November 18, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.\ \ Mrs. Churchill was born on September 25, 1917 in Raritan, IL and lived most of her adult life in the Byram area. She was a kind, caring and godly woman who will be missed by her family and friends. In her early years while moving from state to state she was busy being a Mother and homemaker. She was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher at Alta Woods. Mrs. Churchill was also church secretary under three different pastors there.\ \ She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Hazel Van Doren, husband Edgar Ray Churchill, brother Garold Van Doren, son-in-laws Edward Foshee and James Busby and granddaughter Kimberly Beck.\ \ Mrs. Churchill is survived by children Kay Foshee, Madison, MS; Carol Busby, Gulf Breeze, FL; Karen Beck (Bill), Brandon, MS; and Kenneth Churchill (Pat), Byram, MS. Grandchildren Eddie Foshee (Sherry), Hernando, MS; Sheri Iupe (Joe), Madison, MS; Ronnie Foshee (Conchetta), Baton Rouge, LA; Jimmy Busby, Gulf Breeze, FL; Jon Ray Busby, Gulf Breeze, FL; Bryhn Beck (Jill), Collierville, TN; Jennifer Nyiri (Richard), Canton, MS; Kenny Churchill (Ashley), Byram, MS; Kevin Churchill (Christy), Terry, MS; Kyle Churchill (Renee), Richland, MS and 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and 1 nephew.\ \ Family and friends who wish to honor the memory of Maxine can do so by making contributions to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Alta Woods Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.\
