Orien W. Stringer went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 28, 2012. He was born on November 11, 1924 in Gadsden County, Florida. He was one of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and step-son. He was in the Army during WWII for 1 1/2 years. He worked for Western Electric installing equipment in telephone offices. He retired from AT&T after 19 years.\ \ He was married to Jeanette over 40 years. He had two children, Wanda and Scott, four stepchildren, five grandchildren, one great granddaughter, six step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren. \ \ He enjoyed spending time with family, reading his Bible and ministering to shut ins.\ \ He claimed Romans 8:28 (KJV) as his favorite Bible Verse. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." \ \ Visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2012 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Byram, MS.
