Mr. Orville Cobb

Mr. Orville Cobb, 76, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 16, 2013 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with interment in Terry Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday and 10:00-11:00 Monday, all at Chancellor Funeral Home. Mr. Cobb was born September 6, 1937, in Leake County, MS to the late Roy Homer and Ida Mae Crosby Cobb. A resident of Terry since 1989, Mr. Cobb was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. He was a five-year Veteran of the US Air Force, serving in Germany as Sergeant and Crew Chief on the F-86 Super-Sabre Aircraft. He was an electrician and was Founding Partner of G&C Electric Company and served for 25 years from 1965 to 1990 before changing careers to become a homebuilder. Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brothers H.C., H.L., and A.K. Cobb. He is survived by his loving companion, Libby Forbes; sons Roy Cobb (Teresa) of Jackson, Ray Cobb (Lou Ann) of Terry, and Randy Cobb (Nancy) of Gardendale, AL. He is also survived by his daughter Renee Bishop (Robin) of Terry; as well as five grandchildren: Ryan Cobb, Morgan Smith, Erin Cobb, Brett Cobb, and Reese Bishop.
