Oscar Lee Quimby

Oscar Lee Quimby, 76 of Star, MS passed away in his home on November 1, 2023, due to heart complications. Oscar was the baby of seven children born to Myrtle and William Quimby of Brandon, MS. Oscar was a high school graduate of Clinton High School where he played on the football team for several years.

Oscar worked as a shipping/receiving clerk at Rickett & Coleman until he became disabled in 1988. Oscar spent his spare time cheering on his Ole Miss Football team and McLaurin High School Football/Basketball teams (where his 2 children graduated). On Saturday mornings he looked forward to visiting with his friends at the local Donut Shop and visiting with his girlfriend (favorite teller) at his bank. Oscar was a member of the Star Baptist Church.

Oscar is proceeded in death by his parents William and Myrtle Quimby; his brothers, Jim, George, Bill, and Robert Quimby; his sisters, Cora Loflin and Eva Norton; and his grandson, Johnny Evans III. He is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Mike) Martinez of Florence, MS, and Tiffany (Tommy) Odom of Georgetown, MS. His greatest joys in life were his grandchildren; Camron (Jeremy) Dolan, Kali (Tyler) Hayes, Breanna, and Casey Nolan, Will and Keri Odom, Cristy, Jesus III, and Allison Martinez. His great-grandchildren; Rhylee Butler, Karlee and Kinsley Dolan, and Rebecca-Paige Hayes.

There will be a Family and Friends service at 11:00am on Friday November 10th at Star Baptist Church (301 Mangum Dr., Star, MS 39167)
