Mrs. Otzie Ree Owens Richardson, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland, MS.\ Funeral services will be 11am Thursday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with burial following at Lakewood South Memorial Park. Mrs. Richardson was born November 26, 1921, in Taylorsville, MS to Rosada Yelverton Owens and Robert S. Owens. She graduated from the University of Southern MS with Bachelors in Education and received a Masters in English from MS College.\ \ Mrs. Richardson taught school in Covington and Smith County as well as JPS for over 35 years. She was a member of Pinelake Church and a former member of McDowell Road Baptist Church where she Good Timers and taught Sunday school for 39 years. She will be remembered for her effort to "Do something for someone every day." All those knowing Otzie will certainly miss her as a prayer warrior.\ \ Mrs. Richardson is survived by a daughter and son Nancy and Randall Armstrong of Brandon, two grandchildren Shannon (Tim) Fielder of Brandon and Scot Armstrong of Athens, GA; five great grandchildren: Mary Caroline, Anne Marie, and Jack Armstrong of Athens, Georgia and Finn and Hudson Fielder of Brandon; sister-in-law Nell Owens of Byram; brother Bidwell Owens of Terry and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.\ \ She was preceded in death by her husband Vance Richardson, both parents, brother AC Owens of Jackson, brother and sister Clyde and Mary Owens of Alabama, and sister Boots Owens of Terry.\ \ Pallbearers will be Michael Owens, Clyde Owens, Bucky Owens, Mark Owens, Butch Owens and Robert Owens, all nephews of Mrs. Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Manuel, Marty Hull, Bill Amason, Steve Lamberth, David Armstrong, Jenner Collins, Barry Armstrong, and Larry Armstrong, additional family member.\ \ Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland, MS\
