“Paul” Dennis Smith, 80, went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2019 at his home in Raymond,MS. Visitation will be at Bethesda Baptist Church at 13628 Midway Rd. in Terry, MS on Saturday, December 28 from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Born in Brookhaven, MS to Willis and Kathleen Smith, Mr. Smith was a long-time resident of Raymond, MS and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. He was employed as an oil landman with Denbury Onshore. He loved the outdoors, riding his 4 wheeler, working with his tractor, and watching ‘his” Yankees. But, his favorite past-times were spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife, Cookie. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Smith. He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Eva “Cookie” Goza Smith ; his sons, Darren (Angie) Smith of Brookhaven and David (Tracy) Smith of Florence; daughter, Suzanne (Roy) Smith-Holmes of Brandon; step-children, John (Rebecca) Clark, Tate Clark, Jamie Clark, and Paula Clark, all of Louisiana; and grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Frances, Willis Trent, Hayden, Nyah, Christian, Maverick, Leland, and Clifton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethesda building fund.
