Paul D. Bates

\ Paul Douglas Bates, 62, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Saturday, May 14 from 5-8pm and Sunday from 2:00 until the 3:00 pm service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Bates has lived in Richland since 1975 coming from Jackson. He was a member and a deacon at Southern Hills Baptist Church. He retired in 2006 from Jackson Coca Cola after 36 years, and also served in the MS Army National Guard.\ \ Mr. Bates was preceded in death by his father, Talmadge Bates, brother Rodger Bates and daughter Paulanna. He is survived by His wife of 42 years, Anna Bates of Richland; Sons, Talmadge D. (Tamra) Bates of Brandon and Darryll (Angela) Bates of Richland; his mother, Ruby Bates of Jackson Sister, Alice (Vick) Hasie of Richland; Granddaughter, Morgan Bates; and a number of nieces and nephews. \ \ In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Hills Baptist Church\
