Mattie Pauline Cliburn, 80, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her home in Harrisville. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Palestine Cemetery.\ \ Pauline worked as a clerk for 12 years at the Old Pearl Grocery before retiring as a school bus driver. Of her many talents, she played the piano at Palestine Baptist Church and played for the Praise Singers Gospel Group. A very out going person, she enjoyed traveling and gardening, and fishing. She was well spoken and had a good sense of humor. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.\ \ Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Cliburn. She is survived by a very special friend and companion, Joe Dorman of Harrisville; son, Mansil Cliburn of Harrisville; daughters, Betty Howell and Kathy McManus, both of Harrisville; brother Walter Mitchell (Myrtis) of Richland; sisters, Ruth Ables (Cecil) of Florence; sister-in-laws, Merle Lewis and Doris Jennings both of Harrisville; and 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.\ \ \
