Peggy Jean Phillips passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at her home in Richland, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. Mrs. Phillips was born September 4, 1939 in Winston County, MS to the late J.D. and Pauline Thompson. She was a graduate of Clinton Highschool. Peggy was a long-time faithful member of Briar Hill Baptist Church. She was an avid seamstress, at one time owning her own business, Peggy’s Fabrics, Frames, and Notions. Peggy loved sewing, crocheting, and quilting for the community and the Church. Peggy was known to have a Green thumb, working in her flower beds and her garden. She enjoyed fishing and cooking, but most of all she loved her family, and was the best Grandmother! To know Peggy was to love her; this was felt by her family, friends, and the community. Along with her parents, Mrs. Phillips is also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald “Don” Phillips; daughter, Cristina Mann; son, David Cole; sister, Patsy Dennis; and brother, Arnold D. She is survived by her grandson, Richard Mann Jr. of Richland and his father, Randy Mann of Florence; children, Tony Cole of Waveland, Debbie (Barry) Kynerd of Florence, and Bryan (Kelly) Phillips of Raymond; grandchildren, Jared, Cole, Sydney, Wyatt, Darby; and niece Lee Ann Dennis Bankston.
