Mr. Pete Acy

Myron Othine “Pete” Acy, 75 , passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Central MS Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation and funeral service will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Visitation will be 5-8pm, Friday, March 14, 2014 and 10am-11am Saturday, March 15. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Utica. A native of Black Hawk MS, he had lived in Utica since 1994. He was a Barge Superintendent for Horizon Offshore, and he mentored family and many young men to pursue offshore oil field work. Mr. Acy was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Utica. He was a loving father and “Papaw”; people often turned to him for guidance and help. He had a big heart and would always give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He is preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Acy. Survivors include his sons Shane Acy and Kenneth Masters both of Utica; daughters Sheila Benton of Utica, Melissa Hoover of Florence and Dawn Duncombe of Jackson; brothers O.F. Acy of Pensacola, FL and J.J. Acy of Houston, TX; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. On line guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.
