Phillip Edward ”Eddie” Williams,81, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson, surrounded by his family. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 5pm - 8pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and from 10am until the 11 am funeral service at Star Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Star Baptist Church Cemetery. Eddie was born on December 27, 1938 in Tennessee to the late Taylor Leon and Anna Laurie Walters Williams. Eddie was a longtime resident of 44 years in the Florence and Star area. He was a member of Star Baptist Church where he loved his Sunday School class and his church family. He worked for many years as a service manager at Peterbilt of Jackson. Eddie could often be found doing one of his many hobbies, hunting, fishing, riding trail rides with his beloved horses, working on hotrods and cruising the coast. His claim to fame was getting to drive the #14 NASCAR. His greatest accomplishment was being a most loving husband, father and grandfather. Eddie was a man who loved his family, thought his children hung the moon and always put them first. He was preceded in death by his Parents. Those left to mourn his passing include his Wife of years 63 years, Sarah Williams; children, Phil Williams of Florence, Wendy Gregory and husband Pete of Brandon, Randy Williams and wife Karen of Pearl, Jamie Williams and wife Robin of Florence and Steve Williams and wife Jane of Florence; brother, Dr. Taylor Williams of Marilyn, TX; sister, Jean Fonner of Illinois; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; last but not least he leaves behind his faithful companion, his yorkie, Tina Ree Williams whom he adored.
