Phillip Owens

Phillip Owens, 77 , passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment to follow at Lakewood South.\ \ Mr. Owens was a native of Tylertown, MS having lived in the Jackson area for over 50 years and was an avid fisherman. He was a retired Captain from the City of Jackson Fire Department and a retired electrician with IBEW local #480. Mr. Owens was also a member of the Retired Policeman's and Fireman's Association of Jackson, MS and Leavell Woods United Methodist Church. \ \ Survivors include his wife Vivian Owens of Jackson; daughter, Phillette Sandstrum and husband Michael of Bradenton, FL; brother, Roger Owens of Jackson; sisters, Lanelle Huhn of Byram and Fontelle Ginn of D'Lo; granddaughter, Savannah Sandstrum and a number of nieces and nephews.\ \ Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
