Prentiss Glenn Harper, Jr. passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, at the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was 81. Prentiss was born March 10, 1943, to the late Prentiss Harper, Sr. and Jean Barrow Harper. He served in the USAF and earned the rank of Captain.
Mr. Harper was a proud deacon of his church, Lakeshore Baptist Church until it’s closure and then Griffith Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Harper retired from the Jackson Public School System where he taught at several schools in the JPS District.
Mr. Harper is preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Lonnie Lee Harper (Miriam), and Richard Harper (Traessie). He is survived by 1 brother, William Craig Harper, Sr, as well as, 5 nephews and 1 niece.
His services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram on June 19th, with visitation from 9am until 11am, the funeral service will begin at 11am. There will be a Graveside service with Military Honors immediately following the Funeral service held at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery in Crystal Springs.
