Quinton Sojourner

Quinton B. Sojourner, 86, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be at 1pm Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in the funeral home chapel followed by interment at Terry Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Sojourner was born October 20, 1923 in Hopewell, MS. He served 3 years in the Merchant Marine and 2 years in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Sojourner had lived in Terry since 1941 and owned and operated the Texaco Service Station in Terry.\ \ He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey & Ruth Sojourner. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Virginia Sojourner of Terry; sister, Willie Dean Brister of Terry and a host of brother and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews.\ \
