Mr. Raymond Lamar, Sr., 85, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 9, at Crystal Springs United Methodist Church with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time, at the church.\ \ \ Mr. Lamar was a long-time member of Crystal Springs United Methodist Church. A member of the 11th Airborne Paratroopers, Mr. Lamar was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Okinawa and Japan. Mr. Lamar was a produce broker and very involved in the produce business for over sixty years. He was the owner of Crystal Produce Company, which is still operated by Mr. Lamar's son Ray, and his business partner. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed traveling, and had a special love for his dogs and horses. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning and flying his own aircraft when he achieved his private pilot license.\ \ \ Mr. Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Edna Moore Lamar; sister, Helen Lamar Wilson; brother, Boyd Leon Lamar; wife, Jerry Garland Lamar; and daughter, Linda Lamar. He is survived by his wife of 48 ½ years, Ina Johnson Lamar of Crystal Springs; son, Raymond Lamar, Jr. (Patti) of Crystal Springs; daughter, Caroline Lamar Walker (Steven) of Crystal Springs; sister, Elizabeth (Beth) Lamar Conner of Hazlehurst; and grandchildren, Jerry Ryan Lamar, Brandon Carter Lamar, Jarrod Adam Hood, Lindsey Nicole Walker, and Reese McKayla Walker. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Jude Lamar and Adam Hood.\ \ \ The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Crystal Springs United Methodist Church, 306 West Georgetown Street, Crystal Springs, MS 39059; The American Cancer Society, P.O.
