Regina Joy McAlpine

Regina Joy Hamrick McAlpine passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Jackson, MS. She was 77 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, and again on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. A private graveside service will follow.

Regina was born on May 26, 1947, to Verden B. Hamrick and Bettie Cougar Hamrick in Bergoo, West Virginia. She met her husband Charles D. McAlpine in Washington DC and were married on June 4, 1966. They moved to Jackson, MS in 1972 where she has lived for 53 years. She was a member of ChristWay Church in Flowood. Regina loved watching westerns, listening to gospel, traveling, visiting family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing games on her tablet and loved following people on Facebook. She will truly be missed.

Regina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles D. McAlpine; sisters, Phyllis Post, Norma Winfree, and Elma Post; and her brothers, Clinton Hamrick, Gordon Hamrick, and Shelton Hamrick. She is survived by her daughters, Lori McAlpine of Pearl and Tammy Hernandez of Jackson; son, David McAlpine (Lisa) of Richland; grandchildren, Morgan Seals (Leon), Alexis Black, Colton McAlpine, Steven Dortch (Morgan), Jordan Walker (Adriene), Preston McAlpine, Charles N. McAlpine, and Alexander Hernandez; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Eldon Hamrick, and Nelson Hamrick; sister Leota Eastburn (Ronnie); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
