Rev. George Wayne Redden, a beloved pastor, devoted family man, and skilled handyman, passed away on January 23, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on July 5, 1956, in Texas to Louis and Shirley Redden. He is survived by his loving wife Lorrie Redden of Braxton, his sons William Redden of Brandon and Casey (Caitlin) Redden of Mendenhall, and his cherished grandchildren Raylee Redden (13), Fischer Redden (13), and Gracey Mae "Our favorite 3rd wheel" Redden. He is also survived by his sister Diane Ford (Glen) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Hicks.

Throughout his life, Bro. Wayne touched the lives of many as a role model, father figure, and friend to all. His caring nature and compassionate spirit made him a well-respected pastor for 24 years at the Church of the Vine in Pearl, Mississippi. He considered it his proudest accomplishment to be a shepherd to his congregation and share the gospel with others. Bro. Wayne poured his heart and soul into helping people and witnessing their lives being transformed by the power of God.

In addition to his pastoral duties, Bro. Wayne was a skilled handyman who owned and operated Bro. Wayne's Construction and Handyman Services. His expertise in carpentry was renowned, and he took great pride in every project he undertook.

Outside of work, He had various hobbies that brought him joy. He loved tying his own flies for fishing trips with his boys. The serene moments spent on the water were treasured memories that he shared with those closest to him. Bro. Wayne also enjoyed watching football games and spending time camping in nature's embrace. He also loved going to the gym and working out.

One of his favorite pastimes was journaling. Every morning he would devote time to commune with God through writing down his innermost thoughts and feelings. This practice allowed him to find solace and guidance in his faith, providing him with the strength and wisdom to fulfill his calling.

Bro. Wayne’s life was dedicated to spreading love, compassion, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. His warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.

The services to honor and celebrate Pastor Wayne Redden life will be held at New Covenant Church in Harrisville, Mississippi. Visitation will take place on January 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on January 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on January 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the same location. He will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories in Florence, Mississippi.

As we bid farewell to our beloved pastor, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, let us remember Wayne’s unwavering faith, compassion for others, and dedication to serving God. He has left an indelible mark on our lives and his memory will forever be cherished. May his soul find eternal peace in the arms of his savior.
