Rev. James D. Whittington, Jr., 76, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon. Visitation is 5-8pm Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 11:30am Friday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery.\ \ Rev. Whittington was a lifelong Baptist Minister having pastored in Mississippi, Louisiana and Kentucky. Coming from Raymond he had recently moved to Pearl. He was a member at Westview Baptist Church.\ \ He is preceded in death by his wife Bobbye Whittington; sister, Sybil Bennington; grandson, Todd Lewis and great grandson Landon Clarke.\ \ Survivors include his son James D. Whittington III of Raymond; daughters, Babs Whittington of Pearl, Melissa Jernigan of Safety Harbor, FL, Faith Whittington of Littleton, CO, Geri Clarke of Pearl, Julie Myers of Raymond; brothers, Earl Whittington of Anaconda, MT, Bennie Whittington of Pearl; ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.\ \ Guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.\ \
