Rexford "Rusty" Russum

Rexford “Rusty Russum passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at his home in Braxton. He was 61 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, August 26^th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday, August 27^th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Richland City Cemetery.

Rusty was born October 2, 1961, in Jackson, MS to Floyd and Ruby Russum. He was raised in Harrisville moving to Braxton in 1999. He was a hard worker who worked as a Truck Driver. Rusty enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was a very friendly person, never meeting a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Rusty is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Russum; his father-in-law, William Hood; mother-in-law, Mary Alice Hood; and by his brother, Rayford “Bubba’ Cooksey. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Russum of Braxton; his son, James Russum (Faith Fulcher) of Florence; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Russum (Tim Lee Lawrence) of Canada; daughter, Ashley Oswalt of Brandon; grandchildren, Bennett Samuel Lawrence and Sweet Pea; his son’s mother, Marie Hood of Florence; aunts, Marie Phillips of Boggan Ridge and Peggy Denson of Forest; and nieces, Gwenda Phillips, Donieale Rosenkranz, Lee Ann Denson; great nephew, Trey Denson and great niece, Makayla Denson.
