Richard Freeman Cherry, born on April 21, 1925 in Porterville, Mississippi left this earth on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 to go home to be with his Lord and Savior. The family will receive visitors from 10am until the 1pm service Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Rosemont Gardens in Jackson.\

As a young man Mr. Cherry served his country by enlisting in the Navy.\
He drove for Greyhound Bus Lines for over 30 years and was regularly requested for special charters due to his driving skills and for his wonderful personality and sense of humor. He especially enjoyed one of his special regular charters of transporting the Jackson Mets baseball team to and from their games. \

His greatest love and greatest gift to others was the time he spent with his family and friends.\

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Cherry, sons Richard Stanley Cherry (Sue), Wayne Freeman Cherry, and Harvey Clinton Cherry. Grandchildren: Christy Jordan...
