Richard “Duke” Allen Wilson, Sr., 90, passed into the arms of Jesus, early Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. Dominic’s Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. A Memorial Service will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 with visitation one-hour prior. Burial of cremains will follow in the Garden of Memories. Mr. Wilson was born November 10, 1928 to Alvin and Elsie Wilt Wilson in Tiltonsville, Ohio. He lived in the Sun City Center of Greater Sun City, FL until the last 2 and a half years when he moved to Florence, MS to live with his daughter. He was a retired car salesman that enjoyed watching basketball and baseball. Along with his parents, Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wilson; brother, Oscar Wilson of OH; infant brother, Denton Wilson; sisters, Glendine Nunley of OH, Maxine Cook of PA, Fannie Barcus of OH, and Janet Helms of MD; grandson, Jeromie Wilson of Wisconsin; great great grandson, Bubba Wayne Summers of Flora, MS He is survived by his children, Henry G. Wilson (Sally) of Florida, Richard A. “Ritch” Wilson, Jr (Sarah) of Florida, Darlene “Dee” Kennedy (Mack) of Florence, MS, and Terrie L. Peterson (Ed) of Hayward, WI; sister, Elsie O’Connell of MD; brother, Alvin G. “Chic” Wilson of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Stephanie Robinson (Malcolm), Jimi Pace, Sherry Bombich (Mark), Jennifer Russell (Mark) Eric K. Wilson (Brandi), Jason T. Wilson, Staci Kassem (Ali), Richard A. “Ritchie” Wilson III, and Matthew A. Campbell; great grandchildren, Kendall M. Wilson, Gavin T. Wilson, Brady R. Wilson, Sydni and Whytni Kassem, Alissa Wilson, Linley E. Campbell, Kristen Robinson, Ashton Summers (Daniel), J.D. Scott (Jackie), Lexie Lawrence, Christian “Champ” and Kennedy “Doll Baby” Bombich, and Logan “#7” and Dylan “Little Man” Russell; and great great grandson, Colton Scott.
