Richard Neal went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 25, 2024, in Jackson, MS. Born on August 20, 1938, to Walter and Laura Neal in Monticello, MS. Richard’s life was a devoted man with a strong love for his family, and a passion for golf and dominos where he placed 2nd in the World Championship Tournament. He was a member of Briar Hill Baptist church where he served the Lord as an ordained deacon.
Richard's career at Coca-Cola showed his commitment to excellence and his charismatic nature. Outside of work, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether spending time on the golf course, engaging in friendly dominos matches or coaching baseball and football in the rec leagues, he approached every moment with a zest that was truly infectious. He also had a soft spot in his heart for stray animals.
Richard is survived by the love of his life and wife of 68 years, Sue Neal of Florence; son Don Neal (Carol) of Florence; daughter Vicki Sitton (Donnie) of Humble, TX; grandchildren Rebecca Tharp (Ben), Sarah Lee (Robert), Rachel Neal, Rick Neal, Matthew Sitton (Casey), Michael Sitton (Davra), and Melissa Haynes (Jay); as well as 20 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Laura Neal, and his eight siblings. In their time of grief, Richard's family finds solace in the memories of a kind-hearted man who touched so many lives during his time on Earth.
