Funeral services for Rev. Robert Owen Bishop, age 71, of Eufaula, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel in Florence, MS. Rev. Joe Patterson will officiate and burial will follow at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence with Rev. Phillip Harrelson officiating and Chancellor Funeral Home of Florence, Ms. directing. Visitation for Rev. Bishop will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6 until 8 p.m. at River of Life Apostolic Church in Eufaula and in Florence, MS. on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Chancellor Funeral Home from 2 until 4 p.m. Rev. Bishop died Monday, September 10, 2012 at his residence in Eufaula after a brief illness. \ Born January 16, 1941 in Jackson, MS., Mr. Bishop was the son of the late James Henry and Laura Julia Weathersby Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Shirley Jean Greer Bishop, a daughter, Vicky Lynn Bishop, a son, Robert Hunt Bishop, a sister, Laura Jane Langford and a brother, James William Bishop. Rev. Bishop had lived in Eufaula for the past 10 years coming from Delta, LA. He had served as Sr. Pastor of River of Life Apostolic Church for the past year and as Pastor for 8 1/2 years prior to that. \ Survivors include his wife, Velma Bishop, Eufaula; 2 daughters, Rebecca Hall, Virginia and Robin Sterner, Mississippi; 2 step daughters, Martha L. Deaton, Dothan, Al. and Kimberly D. Head, Rehobeth, Al.; 2 sisters, Judith Ann Roberts and Henri Sue Johnson, Mississippi; 15 grandchildren. \ Active pallbearers will be John Nicholson, Ken Warren, Wayne Stafford, Steve Peples, Charlie Haynes, and Eric Bishop. Honorary pallbearers will be John Robert Hall, Abraham Hall, Noah Sterner, Josh Walker, Kieye Walker, Seth Walker and Glen Deaton.\ The family suggest in lieu of flowers friends in Eufaula could make donations to the River of Life Apostolic Church % Jerome Owens, 106 Pump Station Rd., Eufaula, Al. 36027 \
