Robert "Bob" Earl Blakely

Mr. Robert Earl “Bob” Blakely, 84, entered into his eternal life with Jesus Christ on October 26, 2022, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Visitation will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 11:00am-1:00pm until the 1:00pm service at First Baptist Church in Richland.  Interment will be Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland following the service.  

Mr. Blakely was born on July 1, 1938, to the late Calvin Eugene and Ruby Lyles Blakely in Winona, Mississippi in the Teoc Community.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Bob was also vice-president of Cowboy Maloney’s for 31 years.   He has lived in the Richland area for the past 10 years where he was Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church.  He previously pastored Valley Hill Baptist Church in Greenwood, Mississippi for 22 years.  Mr. Blakely loved hunting, fishing, working in the yard, gardening, woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.    

Mr. Blakely is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Ruby Blakely; wife, Jacqulyn Langley Blakely who he was married to for 53 years; infant son, Robert Wayne Blakely; sisters, Elizabeth Osborne, Annie Mae Goss and Lillian Baker; and brothers, Marion, Billy and Bruce Blakely.  He is survived by his wife, Esther Blakely of Richland; son, Darrell (Virginia) Blakely of Pearl; daughter, Darlene (Joey) Kranz of Richland; grandchildren, Kristin (Jimmy) Tyus, Karli Blakely, Marshall and Joshua Kranz; great-grandchildren, Swayzee Blakely, Noah and Luke Tyus; brothers, David Blakely of Carrollton, Mississippi, Larry (Marlene) Blakely of Foley, Alabama, Harry (Mary Jane) Blakely of Belzoni, Mississippi, and Dean Blakely of Teoc, Mississippi; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
