Robert (Bobby) Judson Lowers ended his battle with metastatic melanoma early Sunday, October 12 at his home near Pocahontas, MS. Bobby's amazing courage and determination in the face of this cruel disease was an inspiration, Bobby was raised in Oil City, PA by loving parents Robert and Virginia Trax Lowers. He graduated Washington and Jefferson College. His adult life was spent in various occupations, first working with the military with the Red Cross in Alaska, Germany, and Riverside CA, later becoming a licensed appraiser in Morgantown, West Virginia and finally working with the Small Business Administration as a disaster damage appraiser, settling in Mississippi, where he enjoyed his last years surrounded my dogs, cats, horses and children at their home that lovingly became known as "Camp Lowers". In every aspect of his life, Bobby demonstrated kindness, compassion and amazing love. Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Crain Lowers and sisters Judy Lowers Espy of Bradenton, FL, Luann Gugino Saden of Fredonia, NY and brother Alan Gugino of Rochester, NY as well as numerous much loved nieces and nephews. Bobby was much beloved "Baba" to children, Rachael Turner Landers (Philip) and daughter Dorothy, Leo Turner and daughter Piper and nephew Nick Crain and son, Cameron and the much loved son-in-law to Janice Crain. Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS are handling the arrangements. A service in celebration of Bobby will be held on Friday, October 17 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Jackson, MS at 3:00pm.
