Joseph (Robert) Lewis, 52, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at CMMC in Jackson. Visitation will be 4-9pm Monday, October 3, 2011,Tuesday October 4 and 1-2pm Wed October 5 all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will begin at 2pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel followed by interment at Lakewood South.\ \ Mr. Lewis was born May 3, 1959 in Hinds County to Wilbur "Ed" and Carrol Bryant Lewis. A lifelong resident of the Jackson area, Robert had lived in Clinton for the last 3 years having worked for the City of Clinton for the past year. He was a retired Major with the U.S. Army after 28 years of service, 32 degree Mason at Pearl Lodge #23 and member of Southside Assembly of God.\ \ He is preceded in death by his father and survivors include his daughter Brandi (Haley) Irwin of Jackson, son Colton Lewis of the U.S. Army in Washington D.C.; mother Carrol D. Lewis of Jackson; brother Frank Edward Lewis of Jackson; sister Regenia C.
