Robert B. (Bobby) Lundy, Sr., 84, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008, in Clinton, Ms, after a brief illness. Graveside services are 330 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Greenwood. Born in Greenwood, Ms., November 16, 1923, he was the youngest of seven children of James I. and Merle Herbert Lundy. For many years, he farmed near Tralake, Ms., and in later years was employed by Brent Towing Company of Greenville, Ms., where he lived from the mid 1970's until moving to Byram, Ms., in 2004. He is survived by his son, Robert B. Lundy M.D., his daughter Jenny Pleasant and her husband Bill, his grandson Neal, and two sisters, Dorothy Kirk of Port Townsend, WA., and Sarah Swain of Cleveland, Ms.\ A graduate Greenwood High School, he served as signalman aboard a U.S.N. destroyer escort in the Pacific theater in WWII. After completing two years at MSU, in 1948 he married Genevieve Shute, who passed away in 1973.
