Robert Sheffield, 84, died peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2010 at his home due to a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 and 12-1 p.m. on Thursday, with services at 1:00 p.m. at the Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, with burial in Lakewood Memorial beside his beloved wife, Frankie Pace Sheffield. \ Born in Itta Bena, MS on November 29, 1925, Robert was the son of the late Jessie E. and Julia Quinn Sheffield of Jackson. In 1942 he married his wife of 59 years, Frankie Pace, and lived for many years in Hinds County. Mr. Sheffield was a devoted husband, father, logger and established in 1957 the currently owned and operated auto salvage yard, O.K. Auto Parts in Richland, MS. In 1973, Robert and Frankie designed and built a home in Simpson County, where they lived out their lives on the farm he developed.\ Robert is survived by his beloved three sons, Robert Glen Sheffield (Erika) of Star, Terry Lamar Sheffield (Gail) of Richland, Douglas Eugene Sheffield (Deborah) of Terry; and only beloved daughter, Barbara Sheffield Smith (Robbie) of Pompano Beach, FL. His surviving siblings include, brother, Harry Sheffield of Wylie, TX, and sisters Delores Baine of Tyler, TX, Eunice Phillips of Vicksburg, and Mickey Brunson of Raleigh, N.C. Especially important in Mr. Sheffield's life is devoted caregiver and constant companion, Ruth Garrett of Harrisville, who continued to stay on to care for him after the death of his wife, Frankie. \ Mr. Sheffield was blessed by the births of eight grandchildren: Barbara Ann Sheffield of Star, Shane Sheffield (Shana) of Raymond, Nycole Sheffield Ingram (Benton) of Florence, Chad Sheffield of Richland, Tracy Sheffield Lindsay (Paul) of Clinton, Daniel Sheffield of Florence, Megan Sheffield and Alex Sheffield, both of Terry. In addition, Mr. Sheffield was blessed with the births of great-grandchildren: Easton Sheffield, Lincoln Sheffield, Eli Ingram, Gabbie Ingram, Ruel Ingram, Ava Grace Ingram, Joseph Lindsay and Madelyn Lindsay. \ Pallbearers will be grandsons: Chad Sheffield, Daniel Sheffield, Alex Sheffield; son-in-law Robbie Smith, long-time friend, Tommy Chandler, and dedicated life-long employee of O.K. Auto Parts spanning three generations, Matthew Cooper.\ In commemoration of Mr. Sheffield's many years of caring, love and devotion to his family and numerous friends, the family requests that donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 5950 Terry Road, Byram, MS, 39272.\
