Rodger Macoy

Mr. Rodger Dale Macoy, Sr., 68, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th from 5-8 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Friday, October 7th from 10 am until the 11 am service at Harrisville United Methodist Church in Harrisville with burial following at Harrisville Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Macoy has always called Harrisville home, other than the time he spent in the Military Service. He retired SFC with the U.S. Army after serving 3 tours in Vietnam. \ \ He was preceded in death by his son, Lavelle Macoy and his brothers, Cloy and Denver. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sissy Macoy of Harrisville; his son, Dale (Jackie) Macoy of Harrisville; his daughter, Lashell (Ronnie) Walker of Florence; his brothers, J.B. and David Macoy of Harrisville and Alton Macoy of Florence; his sister, Patsy Shaeffer of Gulfport; his grandchildren, Kane Macoy, Keri Herrington, Cole Macoy, Blake Macoy, Shelby Walker, Tatum Walker, Mattie Macoy Walker, and Rachel Macoy; and his great grandchildren, Mary Jane, Ethan and Brody.\
