Ronald Bennett Graves passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was 73 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, February 12th from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories in Florence. Ron was born July 24, 1948 in Weatherford, TX to the late George and Murl Graves. He loved the Lord and previously served as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church. He was the most giving and loving person, whether he knew you or not. His door was always open and would do anything for anybody. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army National Guard, retiring as a Command SGT Major. He loved his country and was a military man thru and thru. He was a history buff who especially loved military and Civil War era history. Along with his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mae Graves; and his brother, Donald Graves. He is survived by his sons, Richard (Chani) Graves of Sulphur Springs, TX, Ronald (Rita) Graves of Houston, TX, Ryan (Angie) Graves of Waxahachie, TX, Stephen (Kim) Graves of Angelton, TX, T.J. Hall of Richland, MS and David Hall of Byram, MS; brother, Thomas (Kim) Graves of Gulfport, MS; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
