Mr. Ronald Lamar Husbands Sr.

Ronald Lamar Husbands, Sr., 69, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with interment in Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Husbands worked for Entergy for 30 years and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan who never missed a game. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; and nothing was more important to him than his family. Mr. Husbands was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Lamar and Anna Shirley Husbands. He is survived by his wife, Mary Husbands of Florence; son, Ronald Lamar Husbands, Jr. (Penny) of Boardman, OH; daughter, Deanna Kay Nelson (Chris) of Brandon; sisters, Margie Sasser of Edwards and Barbara Pounds of Buie Creek, NC; and grandchildren, Patrick Nelson, Garret Nelson, and Chelsea Lappe. Mr. Husbands is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
