Mr. Ronald "Ron" Martin Jenkins

Ronald “Ron” Martin Jenkins, 71, passed into the arms of Jesus after a long, strong battle with cancer on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. Ron was born in Lake Village, AR to the late Archie and Annie Jenkins. A long-time resident of the Florence community, he was devoted to God and to his church, Trinity Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a District Sales Manager for Mac Tools and retired after 21 years with the Army National Guard. He was a fun-loving guy that always wanted to make everybody laugh. He enjoyed restoring old cars. He will be remembered for his generosity and his big heart. His recent battle with cancer showed just how strong of a man he was. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rebecca “Becky” Jenkins of Florence; son, Wade (Christie) Jenkins of Florence; sister, Mildred (Charles) Hayman of Oak Grove, LA and Marinette Cater of Hamburg, AR; by his Favorite Granddaughter, Katelyn Jenkins;numerous nieces and nephews; and by his faithful dog, Mayly.
