Ronald Willis “Sonny” Bridges, 76, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Magee General Hospital. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12th at First Baptist Church in Richland and again from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13th followed by a 11:00 a.m. funeral service at First Baptist Church in Richland. Interment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park. Sonny was born August 30, 1942 in McComb, MS to Willis and Thelma Young Bridges. He lived most of his life in Richland and was owner and operator of Bridges TV service in Richland. He served as alderman for the city of Richland for 24 years, from 1985 to 2009. He loved being a servant to the people of Richland. Ronnie “Sonny” Bridges westside Park was named in his honor for his devotion to the youth and sports of Richland. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Thelma Bridges and his sister, Bobbie Jo Alliston. He is survived by daughters, Kim (James) Smith of Braxton and Shelia Neely of Coffeeville; brother-in-law, Benton Ray Allison; nieces, Melinda Roberts, Cindy Orders and Andrea Alliston; 5 grandchildren, Haylee, Jaymee, Sam, Candace (Jared), Cole (Amanda); 3 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Ezra and Sutton; and a host of friends.
