Roy Thomas Rewis, 78, was born November 29, 1939 and entered his heavenly home on January 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Bethea; father, Shellie Oscar Rewis; brother, Shellie Oscar Rewis, Jr; brother in law, Jerry Burnett; and sister in law, Frankie Cook. He is survived by his wife, Tommie; daughter, Amy Granberry; son in love, Russ Granberry; and seven grandchildren, Charlie, Abby Bethany, Caroline, Eli, Amelia and Josie; sisters-in-law, Barbara Rewis and Diane Burnett; brother-in-law, Charles Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by so many and had a wonderful gift of making those around him always smile and feel loved. He will be greatly missed by all, but especially by his grandchildren who were blessed to be able to call him Pop and their best buddy. He was originally from Homerville, GA and came to Florence, MS in 1967 where he settled and called home. He was employed by Alltel and retired after 32 years of devoted service. After retirement, he enjoyed working with a couple other local communications companies where he continued to be a friendly face to all those he came in contact with. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. He loved his family with a love that will sustain them even though he has gone on before them. Visitation will be Friday, February 2nd from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Florence City Cemetery.
