Roy Antoine Souderes, Jr. passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at his home in Florence, MS. He was 80 years old. The family will hold a graveside visitation and service starting at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Natchez City Cemetery in Natchez. MS.
Roy was born on October 9, 1943, in Adams County to the late Roy A. Souderes, a U.S. Army veteran, and Velma M. Baker, a devoted housewife. Roy served in the U.S. Marines and the Vietnam War. He also retired from MS Department of Corrections in Jackson, MS. Roy was an avid car enthusiast. Of all the things he loved in life, nothing compared to his love for his family.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Danielle Smith; sons, Roy A. Souderes III, Frank C. Parkman, Justin G. Parkman, and Willie B. Harrell; brother, Michael D. Souderes of North Carolina; and twenty-two grandchildren.
