Roy Keith Weaver, 62, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 25, 2022. The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 27, 2022, from 5:00pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday April 28, 2022, beginning at noon until the 2:00 pm funeral service in the chapel of Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Roy was born on December 7, 1959 in Jackson, MS to J. W. and Ollie Frances Nichols Weaver. He made his home in Terry since 1988 and was a member of Springridge United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1977 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. He worked with the Jackson Police Department and taught at Jackson Public Schools. He graduated from the Mississippi Highway Patrol Academy in 1984 and was a patrolman in Tunica, Monticello, and Jackson from 1984-2006. In 1985, he began serving with the Honor Guard and continued his service for several years. He later taught Drivers Ed and PE at Raymond High School in 2006 and Raymond Elementary from 2014-2021. He loved working out and coaching baseball, football, soccer, and basketball. His coaching motto was T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More. He coached his sons’ athletic teams and won many state championships. He loved to watch NCIS and old TV shows. He is preceded in death by his parents, J. W. and Frances Weaver. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Emilie Weaver of Terry; sons, Ryan (Beth) Weaver of Gluckstadt, Tyler Weaver of Terry, and Carson Weaver of Terry; brother, Michael (Charlotte) Weaver of Brandon; sister, Linda (Danny) Mahaffey of Pontotoc; aunt, Nell Thrash of Forest; best friends, the Byrd and Oswalt families; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springridge United Methodist Church in Terry, MS.
