Mr. Roy Von Welch

Roy Von Welch, 79, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home in Harrisville. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, December 17th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 18th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service all at Palestine Baptist Church in Harrisville. Burial will follow at Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Welch was born March 10, 1940 to Tommy and Maggie Buckley Welch in Harrisville, MS where he lived his whole life. He was also a lifelong member of Palestine Baptist Church. Roy retired from Desoto Furniture in Jackson and worked for many years prior to that at Bernstein’s Shirt Factory in Crystal Springs. Along with his parents, Roy was also preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Welch. He is survived by his sons, Tommy (Angela) Welch, Richard (Loree) Welch, and J.J. (Cheryl) Welch all of Harrisville, MS; sister, Jewel Dean Ward of Harrisville; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
