Mrs. Ruby W. Russell

Ruby W. Russell, 81, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at MS Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 9-11am Monday, October 14, 2013 at Alta Woods Baptist Church, with funeral services beginning at 11am. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Russell was a native of Crystal Springs, MS and graduated from Terry High School. She met her late husband of 34 years, James “Russ” Russell, at Keisler Air Force Base. For over 25 years she joyfully served in many capacities with the MS Baptist Convention Board. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her mother and church group. She was an active member of Alta Woods Baptist Church, where she served as president of the Joy Singers choir and was a member of the sanctuary choir. Mrs. Russell loved her family and friends dearly, but most of all, she loved her Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents William Buford White and Areth Ora Taylor White; brothers Melvin, Billy and Fred White. Survivors include her sons Terry (Debbie) Russell of Daphne, AL, Ronnie (Martha) Russell of Terry and Barry (Marie) Russell of Brandon; daughter Kathy (Mark) Catchot of Raymond; brothers Perrin (Mittie) White of Raymond and Elton White of Pearl; grandchildren Vanessa (John) Fridge, Matthew (Ashleigh) Russell,Carrie (Joel) Thames, Tyler Catchot, James Russell and Elizabeth Russell.
