Mrs. Ruby Gay Russum

Ruby Gay Russum, 77, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 11:00am until the 1:00pm funeral service Friday, June 7, 2013 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Rosemont Gardens. Mrs. Russum was the devoted wife to Leon Russum for 62 years. She was a Nurses Aide at Inglewood Nursing Home for 12 years and teacher for three year old Sunday School at Daniel Memorial Baptist Church for many years. Her favorite hobbies were cooking for her family and extending care to others. Mrs. Russum was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Leon Russum; parents, Ada Caroline and Robert Lester Smith; brothers, Sid Smith, Monroe Smith and Jeff Smith; sisters, Emma Smith, Rosie Eloph, Lois Arender, Climmie Robbins and Sally Daniels. She is survived by her sons, Greg Russum (Sherry) and Floyd Russum (Terresa) all of Raymond and her only daughter Connie Dear (Danny) of Byram; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two on the way. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the NICU staff at St. Dominic Hospital and Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland for their excellent care.
