Ruby Haley Sanders

Ruby Haley Sanders went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in Jackson, MS. She was 72 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 followed by burial in the Garden of Memories.

Ruby was born on July 10, 1952, to George Haley and Lois Mooreland Haley in Jackson, MS. She lived in Florence where she attended Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. Ruby was married to the late William “Bill” H. Sanders for 20 plus years. She was a devoted wife, mother and Mamaw and she had the best hugs. Ruby loved her family dearly. She had a servant’s heart in her life and her job, but reality was that she was always willing to help someone in need. She loved to cook. Ruby was always witty and funny and never lost her smarts. To know her was to love her. She will truly be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” H. Sanders; daughter, Tammy R. Doster; son, Dion Sanders; siblings, Betty Haley, James Haley and Dennis Haley; grandson, Derek Doster; and great grandson, Aladdin Bowen. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Paige of Florence, Barbara Kerr of Jackson, and Deidre Lott of Mathiston;  8 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
