Ruby Hazel Nix, 85, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. Domonic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 3:00-5:00 today at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services are scheduled for 9:00 AM Monday in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd.\ \ Ruby worked most of her life as a bookkeeper, working up until two years ago. She prepared taxes for H&R Block and more than twenty years with Graves Auto Electric. She was very involved in her community by serving and volunteering, including Women in Construction, Civitan, Volunteering for the American Heart Association and the Mustard Seed. Her walk with the Lord was very important to her. She served him faithfully as a lifelong member of McDowell Road Baptist Church. \ \ She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, James E. Nix. She is survived by her only child, DeWitt Nix and his wife, Wanda of Brandon. \
