Mrs. Ruth Davis

Mrs. Ruth Davis, 96, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 06, 2016 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Byram. Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Monday evening at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and 12pm Tuesday until the 2pm Funeral Service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Terry Cemetery. Dr. John Pace will officiate the services. A longtime resident of Petal, Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Central High School and a lifelong member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the WMU and 55 ALIVE group. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed yard work and planting flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Norton Grant and Stella Mae Wells Grant, her twin daughters, Patricia Ann and Patsy Ruth Davis and her brother, Everard Meade Grant. She is survived by her children, Louwill Ensley Davis, III (Pat), of Terry, Richard Grant “Dick” Davis (Debbie), of Brandon, Beth Davis Morrow (Kemper), of Conroe, TX, Charles Thomas “Charlie” Davis (Denise), of Terry, and James Steven “Steve” Davis (Melissa), of Byram; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
